The Future Of Image Manipulation, Is It Content Aware Image Resizing?
By Eric Richards | September 3, 2007
Ever wish you could continuously resize an image on the fly?
I’m not talking about cropping or enlarging an image but having an image automatically resize, for example, as a web page resizes. Check out this video which has been viewed over 300k times as of this post.
This could very well be the future of image manipulation. Think about the possibility of having a single image automatically resized correctly for both a computer web browser or a mobile device. Or, how about an image on a web page that continuously resizes based on the browsers window or display size.
You should definitely keep an eye on this technology. Rumor has it, the co-inventor, Shai Avidan, may be joining Adobe. Think of the possible implications for Photoshop.
